Gorenje

Gorenje is a Hisense group factory and is one of the leading European manufacturers of household appliances, with two global brands (ASKO and Gorenje) and six local brands, providing innovative, energy-efficient, and expertly designed appliances across 90 countries worldwide. Its production facilities are in Slovenia, Serbia, and the Czech Republic, with development and competence centres in Sweden, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia. Its focus is on household products and services, with a vision to become the most design-driven innovator in the world. The vision of Gorenje is to become a world leader in design-based innovations that bring added value to consumers and simplify their lives. Gorenje is also one of the most environmentally aware companies in Slovenia as it implemented an ISO-14001-compliant environmental management system in 2000 and was the first Slovenian company to join the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) in 2004.

Gorenje’s environmental commitment is outlined by the following:

* Material innovation: improving the functionality of the products while reducing the burden on the environment

* Platform-based thinking: developing appliances for various customer segments while rationalizing the production design costs and environmental impact

* Novel business models: offering built-to-last appliances that can support multiple lifecycles and pay-per-wash business models.

Gorenje has developed long-lasting washing machines and piloted a circular pay-per-wash scheme in four European countries successfully. As part of the DiCiM Project, Gorenje will utilise IoT, AI, and AR connected with failure prediction and the rest of life for spare parts recovery and more to achieve the above objectives.
